From tree to table and everything inbetween…
Our Mantra
Reswoodmill was started in 2018 by Jarrad Butcher, an arborist by trade for 15 years. Jarrad was constantly aggrieved by the waste of very good grade Australian hardwood timbers that were either put through a chipper or dumped on a log pile to be burned or processed into firewood.
To address this problem, Jarrad set about salvaging these logs and slabbing them up to reveal their true potential and inner beauty. A fusion of modern live edge slab furniture with custom design and production coupled with bespoke epoxy combinations and the Reswoodmill dream was born.

All logs from Reswoodmill are salvaged or reclaimed and then cut, dried, designed, produced and then finished into a beautiful new piece of furniture that is sure to stand the test of time. Whether it be live edge or straight cut both sides this allows Reswoodmill to control the quality of each step in this process which enables the end customer to have the best possible piece to cherish and love for many years to come.
A saying that has been thrown around frequently is ‘From treet to table and everything in between’ – this represents Reswoodmill to a tee and enables us to know exactly where the timber came from and control the quality of every step thats involved into making your custom piece of furniture.
Epoxy and Wood
Jarrad has spent years researching and refining the art of combining timber with epoxy resin. Whether it be Australian hardwoods, softwoods, European timber or more exotic wood species, lots of trial and error coupled with persistence and determination has allowed Reswoodmill to offer an incredibly high degree of detail and confidence in our final products.
The freedom and creativity that epoxy allows you to take on combined with live edge timber slabs means that those one off custom pieces you have been thinking about but not sure where to get are reachable at Reswoodmill. Bright colors and vivid patterns to a smoky grey or crystal clear finish is achievable with a high quality epoxy allowing the customer to get what they want – the creative possibilities are endless.
Not only does the epoxy enhance and celebrate imperfections and what others would consider defects in the slab it stabilises and increases the already natural beauty of the timber creating unique pieces that tell a story and not just plain straight grained wood.
